About Us

Mana Market is the Gold Coast's premier hobby gaming destination. From our Ashmore store we've built a thriving home for the trading card community, stocking singles and sealed product across all the major games, including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood, Riftbound and more, alongside sports cards, board games, miniatures, and gaming accessories.

We're a lot more than a retail counter. We run three dedicated services that set us apart: a live buylist that lets people sell their singles and sealed product for cash or store credit, an eBay consignment service where we handle the listings, sales, and shipping on our customers' behalf, and PSA grading as a registered dealer. We also bring the community together in-store with regular tournaments, pre-releases, and events, and we're a familiar face at major card shows around the country.

We're a passionate, fast-growing team that takes the hobby seriously, and our customers' collections even more so. As we continue to expand, we're looking for the right people to grow with us.

About the Role

We're hiring a full-time TCG Buyer to join our TCG team on the Gold Coast. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role at the heart of our business. You'll be the person making sure the cards we buy are priced correctly, meet our quality standards, and are processed accurately.

It's a role that blends customer service, market knowledge, and meticulous data entry. You'll work closely with a large team, deal with everything from everyday buylists through to large collection purchases, and play a direct part in keeping our buylist pricing sharp and aligned with the market.

The role also involves interstate travel from time to time. We regularly attend collectors' conventions and major TCG events around the country, such as CollectFest, where you'll be on the ground operating our buying tables and purchasing cards directly from customers throughout the day. This travel is done by plane and often falls across weekends, so flexibility and a willingness to represent Mana Market on the road are important.

What You'll Do

  • Provide excellent in-store and over-the-phone customer service as a first point of contact for customers selling their cards.
  • Work through customer-submitted buylists, checking them for accuracy, correct pricing, and stock.
  • Approve or decline buylists based on our pricing, quality standards, and business needs.
  • Carry out quality control on all cards being bought, ensuring they meet our condition standards (we follow eBay's grading standard).
  • Manage our internal buylist software, setting and adjusting pricing rules to reflect current market trends, shifts within each game, and the needs of the business.
  • Handle high-value transactions, including six-figure deals, with care and accuracy.
  • Maintain a high volume of accurate data entry across all buying activity.
  • Travel interstate by plane from time to time to represent Mana Market at collectors' conventions and major TCG events (such as CollectFest), operating our buying tables and purchasing cards directly from customers on the day.
  • Work weekends as part of the standard roster, including during travel to events.
  • Work collaboratively within a large team to keep buying running smoothly.

About You

Essential
  • Retail experience with a strong customer service background.
  • Knowledge of the TCG market, with a solid understanding of the Pokémon TCG market in particular.
  • Exceptional attention to detail. A large part of this role is data entry, and accuracy is crucial.
  • Confident telephone and in-person customer service skills.
  • Available and willing to work weekends and to travel interstate by plane for events as required.
  • A reliable team player who works well alongside others.
Bonus points
  • Knowledge of other TCG markets is a bonus (for example Magic: The Gathering, Riftbound, or Yu-Gi-Oh!).
  • Experience using Shopify
  • A general understanding of card quality and condition.
